David is the Chief Executive Officer of ArizSota Business Consulting Company, (ABCC) based in Phoenix (Sun Lakes), Arizona.  ABCC has been in existence since 1983, and is organized to consult with entities and individuals relative to Tax Matters, Forensic Accounting, Expert Testimony, Trustee and Receiver appointments, and other Restructuring and Insolvency Issues.  He was, until his retirement at the end of 2006, the National Practice Leader of the CBIZ Restructuring Group, an authorized and licensed d/b/a for CBIZ Miller Wagner, LLC, which is part of the Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services Group of Century Business Services, Inc., (CBIZ) the USA’s 7th largest accounting services firm.  He brings over 35 years of experience in the restructuring industry where as a practitioner in the field he has managed hundred’s of turnaround and bankruptcy cases since the enactment of the Code in 1979.  He was a shareholder of the independent CPA firm, Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C., which is the rated as the 7th largest CPA firm in the USA until his retirement.  He returned to ABCC upon his retirement to continue services on a part/full-time basis, depending on availability and client needs.  At the inception of the 2008 banking crisis, he was recruited by the FDIC and the FDIC’s Resolution Assistance Contractors, accepting positions as needed, to assist them in the management of the assets held by the FDIC and managed by the contractors.  He has managed the overall operations for failed banks with assets in excess of $4.3 billion.  He has worked on 120+ failed banks in his career, including positions with the FDIC, the RTC, and their contractors.   In his full-time career, he was retained as a financial advisor by entities with multiple operations throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe.  He has managed the turnaround of large multi-location entities engaged in airlines, airplane parts, real estate, manufacturing, distribution, health care, financial institutions, construction, and transportation.  He has been retained by the Federal Government and numerous law firms to be an expert witness in trial and litigation issues involving bankruptcy matters; tax matters; preference issues; malpractice; damage calculations; valuations of interests held; and as an expert in real estate matters.  He worked for the RTC in Dallas, Texas, as the Receivership Coordinator, and led the publication of the Receivership Closing Manual for the Metroplex zone.  He has assisted many individuals and companies in tax planning, tax alternatives, pension and other retirement planning, net worth assessments, and tax preparation and tax planning. 

He has had involvement in many areas of the insolvency & restructuring field, including appointments by the US Bankruptcy Trustee/Court as a Trustee in Chapter 11; Trustee in Chapter 7; An Examiner; Accountant for the Creditor’s Committee; Financial Advisor to the Debtor in Possession; Accountant for the Secured Creditors Committee; Special Projects Consultant to the Chapter 7 Trustee; and as an Accountant for Chapter 7 Estates.  He served as the 1999/2001 President of the Arizona Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and is a past Board Member.  He qualified as a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) by the TMA in 2004 and currently holds that designation, (now a CTP-Emeritus) along with the Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor designation, (CIRA).  He holds an Inactive CPA license in the State of Minnesota and Arizona and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Minnesota CPA society in 2007.  He is a founder of INSOL International (1982) the body that provides avenues of awareness to develop insolvency laws and regulations for disciplines in countries around the world.

David was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Minnesota Society of CPA's in 2007, and a Founders's Award by the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors in 2009.
